Princess Charlotte Pays Tribute to Queen Elizabeth at Trooping the Colour 2025
At the 2025 Trooping the Colour ceremony, 10-year-old Princess Charlotte honored her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II,
by wearing a light teal dress and a diamond horseshoe brooch—a cherished family heirloom symbolizing the Queen’s lifelong love of horses. The brooch,
first worn by Charlotte at the Queen’s funeral in 2022, once belonged to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and has been passed down through generations.
Charlotte’s outfit echoed her mother, the Princess of Wales, who wore a striking blue coat dress by Catherine Walker
and a matching hat by Juliette Botterill. Princess Kate also paid tribute to the Queen by wearing the Irish Guards
regimental brooch and the Bahrain Pearl Drop earrings—originally gifted to Elizabeth II on her wedding day in 1947.
The event, celebrating King Charles III’s official birthday, included over 1,400 soldiers, a vibrant RAF Red Arrows flypast,
and the Royal Family’s traditional appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony. Owing to ongoing cancer treatment,
King Charles took part in a carriage rather than riding on horseback.
Notably absent were Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Prince Andrew, reflecting the monarch’s aim for a slimmed-down Royal Family.
The day’s tributes and pageantry underscored the lasting legacy of Queen Elizabeth.
