Mom Reveals Secret McDonald’s Hack That Is Getting The Restaurant’s Attention

Did you know that there is a correct way to eat McDonald’s Happy Meals? Well, one social media maven named Mrs. Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, regularly posts content sharing her cleaning skills and spick-and-span home. However, Mrs. Hinch recently decided to share content about McDonald’s and revealed the one true way people are supposed to eat a Happy Meal.

In the viral video, which she posted to Instagram, the 32-year-old home hacker shared a video featuring her two sons and her husband. In the video, she opens up a McDonald’s Happy Meal by ripping around the top of the iconic box in order to make a “plate” for the kid to eat their food.

She wrote, “WHHHAATTT! Please tell me I’m not alone here. Did anyone else not know this? Why am I always late to the party? Use this audio and share a hack you’ve discovered! No, this is not sponsored by McDonald’s in any way (I wish it was!).”

McDonald’s official Instagram account jumped on the popularity of Mrs. Hinch’s post by sharing a comment that stated, “Bonus: the kids think you’re some kind of magician.”

Meanwhile, Mrs. Hinch’s 4.6 million followers were divided on the McDonald’s Happy Meal hack. Some people already knew that you could turn the Happy Meal box into a plate, while others had no clue that it was even possible.

The viral video included a shot of her two sons, three-year-old Ronnie and 20-month-old Lennie, before Mrs. Hinch turned the camera toward the McDonald’s Happy Meal box and revealed the trick she had recently discovered and wanted to share with her Instagram followers.

In the video, the Instagram star pulled a tab that cut a path throughout the box and allowed it to open up as a plate for fast food.

In a voiceover on top of her video, Mrs. Hinch said, “I was today years old when I realized you could do this. ‘What have I been doing all my life? I have no idea, but I promise you now this has changed my life forever.’”

Fans were impressed with the Happy Meal hack. Many people shared comments, including the following:

“Hahaha, this really made me giggle. Bless you, Soph!!”

Another fan contributed: “I’ve only just recently found this out. I wish I’d known about this when my boys were little.”

“Hahaha, yes, I knew this, and it’s pretty life-changing. I bet you didn’t know how to use the happy meal box as a hat! My son [invented] that,” another person wrote.

One fan recalled: “My son would then wear the top of the box as a hat – he did this walking through Paris, calling it his fashion.”

Thanks to Mrs. Hinch on Instagram, you now know the correct way to eat a McDonald’s Happy Meal. You can peel open the top to create a plate for the food. Isn’t that nifty?
