Coca‑Cola Fires Back After Trump Claims He Switched The Coke Recipe

After speaking with himself, President Donald Trump has stated that Coca-Cola is planning to alter its recipe in the US.

Since its debut on May 8, 1986, in Atlanta, Georgia, Americans have been savouring a cool can of Coke. The syrup was made by Dr. John Pemberton, who brought it to Jacob’s Pharmacy all those years ago and combined it with carbonated water.

Since then, the recipe has undergone a few modifications, the most significant of which was the 1903 elimination of cocaine. Indeed, the idea that people once drank a glass of something that contained a schedule II medication is absurd.

Since the Republican is a huge lover of Diet Coke, the 79-year-old president has now tried to pressure the soft drink giant into making a change.

Taking to Truth Social, he posted: “I have been speaking to Coca-Cola about using REAL Cane Sugar in Coke in the United States, and they have agreed to do so.”

“I’d like to thank all of those in authority at Coca-Cola. This will be a very good move by them – You’ll see. It’s just better!”

Before discussing Coca-Cola’s reaction, it’s important to note that the company today employs high-fructose corn syrup in the US instead of cane sugar, which was made possible by national farming subsidies. Previously, sugar cane was imported from South America.

Trump is now advocating for the use of US-grown sugar cane in the production of the nation’s favourite soda.

Responding to the president, Coca-Cola Company issued the following statement to People“We appreciate President Trump’s enthusiasm for our iconic Coca-Cola brand. More details on new innovative offerings within our Coca-Cola product range will be shared soon.”

James Quincey, the company’s CEO, emphasised to investors in April, just three months ago, that Coca-Cola will “continue to make progress on sugar reduction in our beverages.”

His company has “done this by changing recipes as well as by using our global marketing resources and distribution network to boost awareness of and interest in our ever-expanding portfolio,” he continued.

Therefore, the sugary beverage that we all love may soon change, and the recipe that it would employ wouldn’t be new to Coca-Cola because sugar cane is used in the production of the beverage in Australia and Mexico, among other nations.
