President Donald Trump just scored another high-profile win against the mainstream media—this time, against CBS News and its flagship program “60 Minutes.”
In a Truth Social announcement Tuesday, Trump revealed the final settlement terms: a stunning $36 million payout stemming from a lawsuit over what he calls “deceptively edited” footage of Kamala Harris during the 2024 election.
The controversy centered on CBS editing two different answers from Harris into one broadcast—an edit the Trump legal team says was meant to deceive voters.
“Paramount/CBS/60 Minutes have today paid $16 Million Dollars in settlement,” Trump posted. “And we also anticipate receiving $20 Million Dollars more from the new Owners, in Advertising, PSAs, or similar Programming.”
This isn’t Trump’s first media victory. In a similar case last year, ABC News and George Stephanopoulos were forced to pay a combined $16 million over false “rapist” claims during the E. Jean Carroll fallout.
Trump’s legal rampage continues—he recently announced a new lawsuit targeting the Wall Street Journal over claims linking him to Jeffrey Epstein. The lawsuit names News Corp, Rupert Murdoch, and demands full retractions over an alleged birthday letter Trump denies ever writing.
The former president concluded his post with a direct warning to the rest of the media establishment: “CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, and others are ON NOTICE. The days of lying to the American people are OVER.”
Whether you support Trump or not, there’s no denying—he’s reshaping the way politicians battle the media… one courtroom win at a time.
What do YOU think? Should the media be held legally accountable for misleading the public during election cycles?
