Schumer Demands Investigation Into Trump’s Weather Cuts After Texas Flood Deaths
Senator Chuck Schumer has officially demanded a federal investigation into staffing cuts at the National Weather Service that may have led to 94 deaths during last week’s Texas flash flooding.
In a bombshell letter, Schumer blamed the Trump-backed budget slashing that left key forecasting roles unfilled — including hydrologists, warning meteorologists, and emergency liaisons in San Antonio and San Angelo.
Many believe the disaster could have been mitigated with proper staffing. Among the dead: 27 young girls at a flooded Christian summer camp in Kerr County.
This is a national scandal in the making.
