Renowned music supervisor Robin Kaye, best known for her work on American Idol, has been found dead alongside her husband, Thomas Deluca, in what LAPD investigators are treating as a double homicide.
The couple was discovered inside their Encino, California home on Monday, July 14, after a welfare check was requested by concerned family members who hadn’t heard from them in four days. When officers arrived and found blood near the front door, they broke a window to enter—only to find both Kaye and Deluca dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
Ongoing Investigation
No arrests have been made, and details remain scarce. Detectives are currently analyzing surveillance footage and canvassing the area for leads. Notably, the house did not appear to have been ransacked, and no clear motive has been established.
Police confirmed that just days before the murders, officers were dispatched to the home following a report of an armed individual attempting to break in. Neighbors told law enforcement they saw someone hop the fence. A helicopter and ground search were conducted, but no suspect was found.
Authorities have not confirmed whether this attempted break-in is linked to the couple’s deaths.

Her colleagues and peers have described her as a visionary with a sharp ear and a deep passion for music. “Robin helped shape the sound of a generation of music television,” one colleague shared on social media.
Community in Mourning
The deaths of Kaye and Deluca have shocked both the television and local communities. Police are urging anyone with information to contact the LAPD tip line immediately.
For now, friends and family are left devastated, hoping for justice in what has become one of the most disturbing Hollywood tragedies of the year.
