Trump Promised It Was a Total Success — But Voters Aren’t So Sure

After President Trump declared that recent U.S. strikes had “completely and totally obliterated” Iran’s nuclear program, a new poll reveals a very different reality…

Just 22% of Americans believe him. And even fewer think the U.S. is safer because of it.

The Yahoo/YouGov poll, conducted after the bombing of three key Iranian sites, shows overwhelming doubt about both the effectiveness of the strikes — and the motivations behind them.

💣 The Mission: Did It Even Work?

Trump promised the attacks would destroy Iran’s nuclear capacity. But intelligence leaks say underground buildings survived — possibly only delaying progress by a few months.

Americans aren’t buying the spin:

  • ✔️ 30% think the mission succeeded (only 5% say permanently)
  • ❌ 47% say the U.S. is less safe now
  • ⚠️ Just 12% think Iran is less likely to pursue a nuke

🇮🇷 The Bigger Picture: Was This Avoidable?

More Americans support the 2015 nuclear deal than oppose it. Many blame Trump’s withdrawal from the deal for reigniting tensions in the first place.

And support for Israel’s role in launching the conflict? Also shaky — only 36% approve.

🧠 What Voters Are Really Thinking

Public opinion is clear:

  • 🔹 43% say Trump went too far
  • 🔹 Only 19% say the U.S. is safer
  • 🔹 49% say the strikes did more harm than good

Even among Trump’s base, doubts are growing. Was this about strategy — or headlines?

👇 We break down the full results, and why this poll could haunt Trump’s legacy.
