The family of a British woman who was taken to a Spanish hospital in a life-threatening situation has spoken out.
Poppy-mae Crutchley’s health unexpectedly deteriorated while she and her pals were enjoying a fun holiday.
According to Poppy’s family, she is currently at a hospital in Spain. Simon Crutchley, her father, posted a picture of his daughter in the hospital with machines attached, stating that she is “fighting for her life.”
When things started to go awry, the 29-year-old Worcester, UK native went on her first girls’ vacation for a friend’s hen party.
Given that the nation’s medical professionals say she has multiple organ failure, his family thinks a tattoo she obtained may be the root of her problems.
To help Poppy and her family cope with the rising expenses of attempting to provide their daughter with the finest treatment possible and, if feasible, return her to the UK, a GoFundMe has been established.
In a post on the donation page, her father wrote, “All I can put it down to is a tattoo she had on her wrist two days before this picture.”
“Now she’s 29 but she’s still my little girl. I don’t believe in religion but if there’s a God up there then I beg you to send my baby a little help to pull through this because I need her.”
“She’s too young and fantastic to be taken yet.”
Just a few days into the trip, on June 29, Poppy was ill. She was brought to a hospital in Benidorm before being transferred to a more specialised facility.
Her friend, who created the GoFundMe page, described how the issue developed and stated that Poppy was doing well in the initial days.
She wrote, “She went away on her first girls’ holiday for a friend’s hen do. On the first day Poppy enjoyed herself with friends, a couple of drinks and even had a tattoo.”
“Instantly after the tattoo, Poppy felt unwell, that unwell that she had taken herself to the hospital where instantly and amazingly they acted straight away due to no oxygen in her body and fluid on her heart.”
“‘Poppy was transferred to another hospital in Spain last night that specialises in what she needs.”
“As it stands currently, they are unsure at this moment in time if it is a bacterial infection (from the tattoo maybe?) or if she has been spiked.”
“We all have faith in getting her back to her normal bubbly beautiful self, and with your help we can give her the best chance possible.”
