A 98-year-old woman is pictured alongside six generations of her family

A Moment That Spans Generations

In February, 98-year-old MaeDell Taylor Hawkins of Kentucky held her seven-month-old great-great-great-granddaughter,

Zhavia Whitaker, for the very first time. The touching moment brought six generations of women together in one unforgettable photo.

Viral Snapshot of a Lifetime
Gracie Snow Howell, MaeDell’s granddaughter, posted the photo online—where it quickly went viral.

The image features MaeDell

, her daughter Frances Snow, Gracie herself, great-granddaughter Jacqueline Ledford, great-great-granddaughter Jaisline Wilson,

and baby Zhavia. Sheryl Blessing, another of MaeDell’s granddaughters, captured the historic shot.

A Life of Strength and Simplicity

MaeDell will celebrate her 99th birthday this July. Her life story is as inspiring as the family legacy she’s built.

She married in 1940 at just 16 years old to a 50-year-old railroad worker,

Bill Taylor. He already had 10 children from a previous marriage, and he was often away for work.

Despite tough conditions, including no running water or washer and dryer, MaeDell and Bill had 13 children together.

Enduring Love and Resilience

“Life was hard, but she never complained,” Gracie told People. That strength passed down through the generations. Gracie added that even her mother, Frances, never spoke a word of complaint about their humble upbringing.

A Legacy of Love

Today, MaeDell’s family spans an incredible 620+ descendants. According to Fox News, the matriarch has:

106 grandchildren

222 great-grandchildren

234 great-great-grandchildren

37 great-great-great-grandchildren

All are scattered across the United States.

Another Photo on the Horizon

“If all goes well, and both Grandma and the baby are healthy, we’re planning another photo this June,” Gracie shared with Fox News.

This powerful legacy is proof that love, sacrifice, and strength can shape generations.
